About this piece
In Japan the markings on the moon have long been seen as a rabbit pounding rice cakes, and the rabbit also appears in the myth of the White Hare of Inaba in the Kojiki; it has been close to people's hearts since ancient times.
This small 8cm Hakata doll was made for the Year of the Rabbit in 2011. Twelve years later, in 2023, we made a Rabbit once again.
