About this piece
Because sheep live peacefully in flocks, they have long been a symbol of family security and peace. Setting out a zodiac figure at the start of the year to wish for a safe twelve months remains a well-loved custom.
With touches of gold and red on its white fleece, this Hakata doll is made in a bright, festive form to welcome the new year. The zodiac comes full circle every twelve years, and we also made a Sheep figure in 2015.
