About this piece
Many will have seen dragons painted on temple ceilings or spouting water at shrine purification fonts. As lord of water, the dragon has been treasured as a protector of buildings from fire and a guardian of the Buddhist teaching.
This 11cm Hakata doll was made for the Year of the Dragon in 2012. Twelve years later, in 2024, we made a Dragon once again.
