About this piece
The dog is one of the animals that has lived alongside people the longest, and is a symbol of loyalty and devotion to family. Like the komainu guardian figures at shrine approaches, it has long been treasured as a protector against evil.
This 12cm Hakata doll was made for the Year of the Dog in 2018. Display it in an entrance or living room as a charm for the family's safety.
