About this piece
Hina dolls spend most of the year in their box. Paulownia wood is said to resist damp and deter insects, and has long been used for boxes that hold precious things.
Koten-bina is a 10cm Hakata doll made in the classical manner. Kept in its paulownia box and brought out with care each year, it will stay with its owner for many years.
