About this piece
In the Edo period, tiny Hina dolls known as keshi-bina were made. Restrictions on lavish, large dolls are said to be one of the reasons these small figures became so loved.
Muromachi-bina (Small) is a Hakata doll just 6cm tall. Whether held in the palm or set on the corner of a desk, it has the particular charm of something small.
