About this piece
This Mai was accepted for the 41st Nitten in 2009. Among the Nitten works we show, it is the earliest to bear the title Mai.
Among the works listed here, from that year on Hakata doll maker Toshiya Honda submitted a Mai almost every year, receiving the Special Prize at the Reorganised Nitten in 2015. Please view it as an early piece in the series.
