About this piece
Manzairaku is a piece of bugaku, the dance of gagaku court music. It is said to depict the phoenix that flew down to sing "long live" when a wise ruler governed the land, and it has been performed at the most auspicious ceremonies, such as an emperor's enthronement.
This small piece captures that dance of celebration in a 9cm Hakata doll. Add it to a gift to convey your warmest congratulations.
