About this piece
Gasshō, bringing the palms together before the chest, came to Japan as a form of Buddhist worship and has taken root in daily life as a gesture of prayer, gratitude and respect; joining hands before a meal is one example.
Inori no Uta, "Song of Prayer", is a 28cm Hakata doll on the theme of quietly joined hands, a piece to keep close with the wish for peace for those you hold dear.
