About this piece
Takara-zukushi, "a collection of treasures", is an auspicious motif gathering the treasures that bring good fortune, such as the wish-granting jewel, the lucky mallet, the cloak of invisibility and the scroll. It has long adorned festive kimono and celebratory ware.
From that array, Hakata doll maker Toshiya Honda has chosen the treasure bag, scroll and mallet and made them at palm size. Set side by side, they bring a lively note to any celebration.
