About this piece
A kōgō is a small lidded container for incense, used when charcoal is laid for the tea ceremony. Sometimes displayed in the alcove of the tea room, it is small yet valued for expressing the season and the host's intent.
The character kei stands for joy and celebration. Use this small incense container by Hakata doll maker Toshiya Honda as part of a celebratory arrangement.
