About this piece
Boys' Festival dolls are usually set out from late March, after the spring equinox, to mid-April, and displayed until 5 May. Once the festival is over, they are put away on a clear, dry day.
Warashi-musha renders a young warrior as an 8cm Hakata doll. Even in a home with no room for a large display of armour, it brings the spirit of the festival within easy reach.
